Year 10 pupils showed superb debating skills in a year group competition.
They had to get into groups of four or five and debate ‘All Life is Equal,’ some for and some against the statement.
There was a panel of outside judges including representatives from UCLAN, Burnley College and the Ministry of Justice.
Wayes was one of the winners and said: “There were three parts to the competition including opening and closing statements.
“Our team were debating that all life is equal and talked about humanists and atheists and ethical issues in today’s world and linked back to the argument.”
The champions were 10 Assisi and 10 Calcutta consisting of pupils Wayes, Haider, William, Eve and Parnet.
There were also prizes for the most engaging, the best presenter and best individual contribution.
